New Business "Plants on Main" Brings a Touch of Nature to Penn Yan
Penn Yan, NY – The Yates County Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome "Plants on Main" to the heart of Penn Yan's business community. This unique plant and gift shop offers a refreshing new destination for plant enthusiasts, garden lovers, and anyone looking to bring a little piece of nature into their lives.
Owned and operated by Navy Veteran Sarah Habersroh, Plants on Main reflects a deep-rooted passion for the outdoors and a commitment to sharing the healing power of nature with the local community. After years of traveling the world, Sarah found solace and joy in plants, and that love for greenery has blossomed into a vision for a welcoming community space.
"Spending time in nature and bringing plants into my home has been incredibly healing," says Sarah. "I want Plants on Main to be a place where people of all ages can feel connected to living things and the outdoors. Whether you're an experienced gardener or just starting out, there will be something here to inspire and delight."
Plants on Main offers a thoughtfully curated selection of houseplants, gardening accessories, and unique gifts designed for nature lovers. The shop aims to be more than just a retail space – it is a place where the community can come together, explore, and find new ways to embrace the beauty of the natural world.
Looking ahead, Sarah envisions expanding the business to include a nearby greenhouse where homegrown plants can be cultivated and sold directly in the shop. This long-term dream reflects a commitment to sustainability and providing the community with high-quality, locally grown greenery.
"My hope is that Plants on Main becomes a destination where people can slow down, connect with nature, and find joy in the simple things," Sarah adds. "I’m excited to share my love for plants and the outdoors with Penn Yan and the surrounding community."
